Not only is the Super 8 image appreciably larger, sprocket holes on Super 8 film are positioned differently than on regular 8mm film and they're much smaller. WebAug 14, 2013 · A projector labeled "Dual 8" means it should play both Super8 and Regular 8mm - i.e., the "dual" designation meant it would project both - different projectors used varying methods to adjust for framing and sprocket size - often not very obvious. Most Super 8 projectors would project both, since those upgrading usually had Regular 8 film.
